The magic of Cane Garden starts at a pair of the plantation's original tall Danish gates that lead you to a long winding driveway shaded by cascading ancient tamarind trees. The impressive entrance with a grand stone staircase leads to an oversized portico. The portico, framed by eight Doric columns, opens into the parlor connecting to the great hall with a dramatic 24-foot high tray ceiling adorned with a handsome, Dutch Baroque brass chandelier. To the west of the great hall is a spacious formal dining room that stretches from north to south. The kitchen, west of the dining room, is complete with marble counter tops, a large center island and beautiful natural light, streaming in from the north and west. On the main level are two bedrooms both with en suite baths. The master suite opens to sparkling Caribbean Sea views and a covered porch. The seaside southern veranda, opening to the great hall features an arched, Doric colonnade and a welcoming-arms staircase with steps of cut coral that descends to the beautiful front lawn. Below the main floor of Cane Garden are four additional guest bedrooms, all with natural light and en suite baths, and some with their own doorway to a private courtyard. A salt water swimming pool, garlanded with vibrant flora including crimson bougainvillea, sits a discrete distance away from the great house with ample deck space for entertaining. The estate also has three cottages, romantic ruins including remnants of a bell tower and sugar mill just steps from the sea. The two cottages closest to the great house have two bedrooms and two bathrooms and the waterfront stone house adjacent to the historic sugar mill (on plot 6) has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
