Huge Mahogany, Flamboyant, and a wide variety of Palm trees grace the property. You’ll even find Ylang Ylang and Lignum Vitae trees there, and orchids growing in many of the trees! Most, but not all, of the property is cleared and tended; it really feels like your own private, tropical park, complete with a gorgeous view of the sea and cruise ship pier. A nicer setting for a home is hard to imagine. Step inside to large rooms with tall, wood ceilings, which give the home a spacious, yet cozy feel. The living room connects the kitchen / guest bedroom / sitting area with the master bedroom area, and there are porches and patios on two sides of the home. The kitchen has a gas range and the cabinets have nice pull-out drawers. The guest bedroom has windows on three sides, providing for great airflow. A lovely sitting area adjacent to the dining area is the owners’ favorite spot for reading and catching the lovely tropical breezes. A large porch area with sea views is perfect for morning coffee and watching the cruise ships come in. The far end of the living room provides a breezy spot for an office, and an exit to a back porch that houses a variety of plants and even a goldfish pond. From the back porch, you are looking into the park-like setting of the back yard, hearing the birds chirp happily, feeling the warm breezes from the sea, smelling the perfume of jasmine and ylang ylang, and seeing a variety of colors from the various blooming plants and trees. This is also a great spot for grilling and outside dining. The master bedroom is spacious and comfortable, and the washing machine is housed in a “nook” in the master bathroom. The current owners hang their laundry to dry; but there is 220 power in their storage room should you prefer to hook up a dryer. And speaking of storage, there is an abundance of it at this home. In addition to a large (243 sq ft) storage area that houses the 10,000K generator and battery backup for the solar system (yes, they have solar too, with monthly power bills under $50), there is a 270 square foot workshop and a special room (45 sq ft) for dive gear. Just a short drive out of this idyllic spot and you are on the best beaches on St Croix. The west end is known for crystal clear water and calm seas. Great for paddleboarding, snorkeling, diving (several wrecks are off the coast), and just lazing about on a hot afternoon. You’ll find several great restaurants out west, as well. And if you’re a history buff, you’ll love that the west end is home to several plantations and ruins of several factories, a labyrinth, and several museums. It’s also only about 15 minutes to the airport from here!
