Once rehabbed with the assistance of DPNR's Office of Historic Preservation, the owners have lovingly restored it to its present cheerful yet elegant condition. Each of the apartments has updated bathrooms and kitchens, although care was taken to retain as much of the authentic structure as possible. The result? Charming and comfortable residences with a waiting list of tenants who want to rent them! The current owners rent them month-to-month, but these apartments could easily be rented by the week or long term. The owners reside off island and have found that by keeping the rent low and the lease terms short, they can be "very picky" about who they rent to. Their caretaker lives in the smallest unit on the property and provides services in exchange for reduced rent. The units are staggered up the hill, and the units on the top level have gorgeous views of the Christiansted Harbor. On your way up to these units are little gardens and enclaves that give the property a true "West Indian" ambiance and provide private and serene outdoor space for owners and guests alike. The owners' quarters feature a large living room with windows all around, and the breezes enjoyed there are just beautiful. The roomy master also has an en suite bath. A small, quaint sleeping porch would accommodate short term guests nicely. And of course no historic home is complete without a huge outdoor gallery!
